A “Kodak” or “Instagram” in business – take your pick

MANILA, Philippines – Internet and mobile is as ubiquitous as pen and paper in our personal and business activities.

Even 4-year-old kids can operate an iPad or a cellphone with 92% of Filipinos owning a mobile phone. Most people do not write letters anymore, they send emails or text messages.

“Kodak” moments have been replaced by Facebook moments. The Philippines is ranked no. 1 in creating a profile on a new social network, no. 1 in sharing photos in a photo sharing website, no. 1 in watching videos online, no. 2 in uploading videos on a video sharing website, no. 2 worldwide in reading blogs, fourth in writing blogs and fifth in podcast downloads. Instagram, barely 2 year-old photo-sharing mobile apps company, was bought by Facebook for a cool $2 billion.

In all these fast-changing digital developments, what future do you see in your business and in your career? Will you be a “Kodak” that went bankrupt after more than 50 years of name-recall and brand leadership? Or will you be an “Instagram” that was bought out for a big sum in less than two years?

The 1st Cebu Digital Marketing Seminar-Workshop that started this Wednesday until Thursday at the University of San Carlos, Cebu City will give you the latest developments, trends and concepts on Internet and mobile marketing to help you avoid the “Kodak” pitfalls and prepare you for potential “Instagram” opportunities.

The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines in cooperation with Cebu Web Services and the University of San Carlos is bringing the country’s top digital marketers to talk on various topics such as: emerging trends & forecasts in digital marketing, current state of e-commerce, fundamentals and global best practices of permission-based email marketing, mobile marketing on the go, social media strategies and execution, and search engine optimization and search engine marketing.

This two-day event is ideal for marketing and brand managers, PR practitioners, exporters, entrepreneurs, marketing students and faculties at an affordable rate inclusive of hand-outs, certificate of attendance and meals. It is supported by the AirPhil Express, Association of Negros Producers, Cebu Bloggers Society, JCI Mandaue, PhilExport Cebu, Business World, Cebu Daily News, INQUIRER.net, Philippine Daily Inquirer, SunStar, SAP-Fasttrack Solutions, SEA

Olympus Marketing.

This Summit is organized by the The Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP; www.immap.com.ph, secretariat@immap.com.ph ).
