Netizens tweet help for flood victims

MANILA, Philippines — Several concerned citizens used the social networking site Twitter to call for help for flood victims and to give situationers in affected areas.

Several tweets posted on the INQUIRER.net weather live tweets, called for rescue and evacuation of people living in Quezon City, particularly those living near Tatalon, Araneta Avenue, Fairview, and Barangay (village) Apolonio Samson.

A tweet from Julie M. Aurelio ( @JulieMAurelio ), reporter from Philippine Daily Inquirer reporter, said residents at Sitio (sub-village)Ruby, Sapamanai, Fairview near La Mesa Dam have not been rescued three hours after seeking help. Twenty-two children and 30 adults were trapped.

Another from @DStrawberryJam: said: “Rescue needed at Tatalon, QC– residents are on top of their house roofs. Children are involved.”

@tina_marasigan and @Xyza2008992212: Water reached the 2nd floor of UST Hospital. Food for the patients and staff are needed;

@rozelljoie: A family needed to be rescued at 36 Road 3, Dona Petra, Concepcion Uno, Marikina City. Contact number: 09053274400;

@mjvona : 15 people in 6 Austin St, West Fairview were stuck on  rooftop. Contact number: 09228070012;

@nikolo_loko: 54 year old  man was trapped at 11 San Lorenzo St., San Vicente Village, Brgy. Maysilo Malabon;

@mjvona: a 74 year old lady was trapped at 17 Kapiligan, Araneta Subdivision Quezon City. All grilled windows locked and water reached the 2nd floor;

@jennifer_ngo: Rescue was needed for Maan Lee and her family at 69 Don Ramon, Talayan. No exit point, on 2nd flr. Call : 09178418413;

@Leardojr1: Rescue was needed for Rodrigo Salvador and children at 184 Kaliraya St., Cluster 12, Tatalon Quezon City;

@da_mak: Rescue boats were needed for residents living in Apocar village, Tandang Sora, Quezon City;

@BernardCLopez: Rescue was needed for residents at #34 Macopa St. Brgy. Sto. Domingo, Banawe;

@iamvievoi: Rescue was needed for children trapped at Sicaba St., Sta. Mesa Heights Quezon City;

@tontonj18: Families were trapped at Bernadette St., St. James Subdivision, Novaliches.

Similar tweets called for the rescue of residents near #80 Tabing Ilog Street, Kaingin Bukid Barangay Apolonio Samson, Quezon City, and 7 Street Peregrine Villa Espana Subdivision, Araneta Avenue Quezon City.

Other tweets called for the evacuation of people living in Tabing Ilog and Poblacion 2 Marilao, Bulacan.
