Joey de Leon’s Twitter update on Nepal quake draws flak
Comedian and TV host Joey de Leon has earned the ire of netizens after he posted jokes on Twitter regarding the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit Nepal.
The comedian, who goes by the Twitter handle @AngPoetNyo, on April 27 posted, “Sa mga nalibing sa Highest Point in the World dahil sa avalanche because of the earthquake in Nepal, May you EVEREST IN FREEZE!”
Many netizens described the tweet as “tasteless and insensitive.”

Responding to netizens’ comments, De Leon posted another one saying: “Sa mga ‘righteous’ dyan: Do not talk to me about respect for the dead. Kausapin nyo muna creators ng Walking Dead at mga Vampire series.”
