Olympic athletes in Rio enjoyed a particularly high-tech way of paying for things through an NFC Ring, which is now being made available to regular folks who want to pay with their Visa in true futuristic style.

Engadget reports that the NFC Ring can be tapped at store terminals when conducting Visa-based transactions. It is currently up for pre-order through this link. It will cost around $53 (£39.99) and can be customized to fit different finger sizes. Shipments are expected to roll out by December.

Some of the establishments that currently support the NFC Ring are Starbucks, McDonald’s, Subway and H&M.  Alfred Bayle
