LOOK: Chinese toy company develops full-sized Iron Man suit
If you’re a guy, better admit it—at one point you must have dreamed of owning, or even donning, an Iron Man suit ala Tony Stark.
China-based toy manufacturer The Toys Asia is reportedly turning this fantasy into a reality by releasing a fully-functional, life-size suit based on the one worn by the famed Marvel superhero.
Measuring at over seven feet, the ‘Mark XLIII’ features 567 moving parts, powered by 46 individual motors, according to The Telegraph.
Making it more enticing to comic book fans, the spot-on replica also creates the same electronic hum whenever it’s switched on.
The mobile suit also takes 27 seconds to open and close—much like the same amount of time it takes for Robert Downey Jr.’s character in the first Iron Man film.
But despite its impressive features, the life-size suit still offers limited wiggle room for an actual person and still pretty much remains stationary.
The Toys Asia has been in operation since 2014 and has been officially licensed by the Marvel banner to create life-size toys based on their trademark characters.
These creations presumably cater to wealthy collectors and comic book aficionados who are willing to break the bank for the items.
The suit will be made available at the start of next year and will cost around 2.5 million Chinese yuan (P17 million).
