Bandai Namco has just revealed some screenshots of an upcoming action game called “Code Vein”.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, humanity has all but died out, save for a few who now call themselves Revenants. They’ve continued to survive despite the disaster that claimed mankind, thanks to powers called Gifts. However, the price of having such powers are memories and a great thirst for blood.

Players take on the role of one these Revenants from an organization called Vein. They will then venture out into the world to fight blood-thirsty creatures who were once Revenants and uncover the past that brought about this nightmarish future.

A myriad of weapons and a number of companions will be at the player’s disposal. At first glance, it closely resembles another game from Bandai Namco called Dark Souls. While the game mechanics have not yet been revealed, it would be safe to assume that it’s grim art style won’t be the only similarities that it will share with the aforementioned game.
Code Vein is scheduled for release some time in 2018 for major home consoles. JB
