WATCH: Game mod gives ‘Fallout 4’ a more horror movie feel

The modification is called “Pilgrim” and it gives the usual “Fallout 4” scenery a more nightmarish twist in the same flavor as “Silent Hill.”

Kotaku reports that the mod doesn’t really add much new content like quests or items. What it does is tweak the game’s weather, sound and environment lighting to produce an ominous atmosphere reminiscent of a horror film.

Coupled with a dynamic music system that changes the soundtrack based on the weather, it’s hard to believe that what you’re seeing is still “Fallout 4.”

It’s easy enough to imagine some form of evil monstrosity lurking within the shadows of a foggy forest. Or some apparition just floating around at the edge of your peripheral vision.

The mod was created by looping and TreyM, and can be downloaded over at Nexusmods. Alfred Bayle/JB
