Porn stars fear ‘sex robots’ may make them expendable

As robots become smarter and more “human-like” due to technology, many workers fear that they may one day be replaced by machines.
Such is the case even in the adult industry, as porn stars are now voicing out their concerns about possibly losing their jobs to “sex robots” in the near future.
Sexy cyborgs shaped to resemble the female figure are posing a threat to women in porn, The Daily Star Online reports.
“Sex robots are going to be a game changer,” porn starlet Ela Darling told the news outlet.
“And I think now is the time to start thinking about these things as this is going to be a technology that people will be embracing in – which is a sensitive thing to be in,” she added. “Right now we’re at the stage where sex robots are being invented and the next step will be everybody has a sex robot.”
In recent moths, multiple companies already began developing robots to be exclusively used as sex workers.

The enhanced technology has also allowed the machines to perform tasks that humans are capable of in the bedroom, which further raises concerns for porn stars.
“I do think at some point people will be having sex with sex robots instead of people,” Darling said. “I don’t think it will be everybody but it will be some people.” Khristian Ibarrola /ra
