THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recently made available an online version of a service that accredits schools wishing to offer technical and vocational (tech-voc) courses.
TESDA noted in its website that the online version of the Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System (UTPRAS) service is initially available for schools in the National Capital Region and Region 4B MIMAROPA (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan provinces).
The UTPRAS, which has been implemented in the last three years, is a two-stage quality assurance process for schools providing tech-voc courses in industrial trade, agriculture, fisheries, home industries, health, information technology, among others.
All of the existing requirements for the UTPRAS also apply for the online version, including the P1,000 non-refundable fee for an ocular inspection of the applying school?s tech-voc facilities.
The other forms required to apply for UTPRAS, which are commonly available in TESDA provincial or district officers, can be downloaded from the website.
The online UTPRAS service is part of TESDA?s e-TESDA program, which makes the agency?s traditional services available online.
