MANILA, Philippines -- Kaisa Consulting believes Vietnam is on its way to becoming a lucrative market for software services due to the influx of foreign investors.

Kaisa established an SAP training center late last year, located at the Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh. The company is likewise the only authorized SAP training services provider in the Philippines.

Vietnam remains a “virgin territory” even for SAP itself, according to Maria Cristina Opinion, managing director. SAP set up a local office Vietnam only recently as well, she said.

“But the growth in Vietnam provides a lot of opportunity for services around SAP, especially large multinational companies that have established themselves there,” she said in a phone interview.

She added: “There is a good chance that what is happening in India and here in the Philippines like shared services will also develop in Vietnam.”

Since it began operations Vietnam, Kaisa has been sending its SAP consultants regularly to Ho Chi Minh It has also hired eight Vietnamese SAP consultants to serve local end-users better.

In the Philippines, Kaisa, which is under the RAMCAR Group of Companies, has grown its SAP services business and now employs around 110 consultants.

“We want to replicate our business in Vietnam. We’d like to begin by providing our office there with enough SAP expertise,” she said.
