MANILA, Philippines -- David Barrett, founding member of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP), is the latest addition to the roster of speakers in next month's e-Services conference.

The IAOP is a well-regarded global outsourcing group with more than 40,000 members including come of the biggest players like IBM, HP and India's Infosys Technologies.

Barrett is chairman of IAOP's European Advisory Board, responsible for steering the group's activities in the region. He is expected to talk about current opportunities and trends in Europe.

Barrett was also a senior executive at IBM in the UK and also founded a boutique advisory firm called PROCURiTAS, which provides technology sourcing and business services, according to a statement from CITEM (Center for International Exhibitions and Missions).

CITEM, a unit under the Department of Trade and Industry, organizes the yearly conference for the country’s business process outsourcing (also referred to as e-services) industry.

According to CITEM, more than a hundred companies from abroad are expected to attend the conference, billed as a venue for forging BPO deals between local and foreign players.

Joining Barrett as key speakers in the event’s CEO Forum are TK Kurien, chief executive of India’s Wipro as well as representatives from investment firms General Atlantic and Wachovia Capital.

The conference will take place February 11 and 12 at the SMX Convention Center in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
