MANILA, Philippines -- Former Business Process Association of the Philippines (BPA/P) executive director Mitch Locsin is moving to UK-based LogicaCMG.
Locsin will handle global business development duties for LogicaCMG, whose local operations provide business process outsourcing services for European clients.
"I will be in charge of building the company's business in the region, and part of it is promoting the Philippines to European clients," Locsin said in an interview.
Following acquisitions of BPO companies in Europe, LogicaCMG is currently consolidating all of its business under the "Logica" brand. The official switch in company name takes effect on February 27.
According to Locsin, part of his duties is to migrate some 40,000 seats in the company's operations in the UK to Asia Pacific, particularly in the Philippines.
The company currently has about 220 workers in the Philippines with plans to ramp up workforce to at least 1,000 this year. The company also has a sizable presence in India.
Locsin has been executive director of BPA/P for three years. As the umbrella body for the country's BPO industry, BPA/P as been instrumental in growing outsourcing into a $5-billion industry as of 2007.
BPA/P also spearheads efforts to further grow industry revenues to $12 billion and grow total workforce to a million within the next two years.
