No slowdown in RP growth, says Accenture

MANILA, Philippines -- Next only to India in terms workforce, the Philippines is a key component in Accenture's global business, according to a top executive.

"The Philippines is a key site in Accenture's global delivery network," said Kevin Campbell, group chief executive for outsourcing at Accenture Global.

Campbell is directly responsible for Accenture's outsourcing business and is in the country for the company's annual celebration of International Women's Day.

Accenture's $8-billion outsourcing business is powered by 75,000 workers, according to Campbell.

In the Philippines, the company has more than 15,000 workers, which, second to India, is the biggest outside of the United States. Locally, Accenture runs eight facilities, including one opened recently in Cebu City.

"We don't see a slowdown in growth," said Beth Lui, country manager for Accenture Philippines, in an interview along with Campbell.

Accenture provides back-office services such as finance and accounting and HR, application development, outsourcing and call center services.

?We have been doing software development since two decades ago, went into back-office processing three years ago while our call center business is only about a year old," said Lui.

The strategy, she noted, in getting more clients is to market the Philippines as a "one-stop shop" for outsourced services that combine voice and non-voice work.

"When you have a diverse portfolio of services, you are able to address a lot more client requirements," she said.
