Like many others in this new normal where work, school, and nearly everything has shifted digitally at home, I badly needed a new laptop to keep up with everyday demands. But in every single computer store I attempted to visit these past 2 weeks, I felt as if I were lining up for a blockbuster movie. And lines weren’t long just because plenty of people needed to buy; waiting time takes about 30-60 minutes because they weren’t sure which laptop to get.
Luckily, I got the chance to get my hands on a laptop in my shortlist, the brand-new HP Pavilion x360, and boy was I thankful that I didn’t need to spend hours searching for what I needed—for me, it was absolute perfection! My initial expectations for this 14-inch laptop were modest given its price, but those were passed insurmountably as soon as I hit that power button.
Versatility hinged on flexibility
One of the things I looked for in a laptop was how flexible it was for someone who not only multitasks around the house, but also goes mobile and works anywhere. The Pavilion’s 360 hinge did not disappoint as it allowed me not only to transform the laptop into a portable tablet with a 1920 x 1080 full high definition display, I was also able to contort it to fit my needs. I could flip it in such a way where I can use the keyboard as a stand behind the monitor when I watch my favorite shows, turn into a tent when I need to work while cooking, and many more.
The laptop which measures 12.76 x 8.78 x 0.78 inches, also only weighed a little over 1.5 kilograms which is relatively light, making it easy to carry around. Its natural silver color also means it could easily blend it when placed alongside other modern gadgets and conveniences.
Sound
Being a bit of an audiophile, laptop speakers don’t usually ring well with me, but this laptop packs a premier auditory experience thanks to a pair of speakers from Bang and Olufsen. Its rich sound quality and dynamic volume proved more than useful during meetings, audio editing sessions, and yes, even Netflix and chilling.
Heavyweight performance
With its Intel® Core™ i7 processor, 8GB RAM, and 1TB HDD/256GB SDD, the HP Pavilion x360 delivers a strong performance running on Windows 10. I was able to write this review, keep multiple tabs open and programs running, and even edit a few photos and videos hassle-free.
Price
Oh, and did I mention that with all these perks, plus the fact that it already has Microsoft Home Office and Student pre-installed, the HP Pavilion x360 only costs Php63,990.00? That’s an absolute steal right there.
So, if you’re still unsure which laptop to get, save the trip to the mall and the risk of catching the virus, and get the HP Pavilion x360 through Shopee, Lazada, or any authorized HP retail partner. Trust me, it’s more than enough for the hardworking student/young professional.
