MANILA, Philippines — Facebook may now remove or restrict access to any content, services, or information on its platform if it believes that doing so is “reasonably necessary” for the company to avoid or mitigate possible legal or regulatory actions.
The social media giant announced that it will modify a section in its terms of service to include this change.
“Section 3.2 will be updated effective October 1, 2020,” Facebook said in a note above its current terms.
The following guideline was included in the revised terms of service:
“We also can remove or restrict access to your content, services or information if we determine that doing so is reasonably necessary to avoid or mitigate adverse legal or regulatory impacts to Facebook.”
