As people across the globe moved most of their activities online amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the amount of data created on the Internet per minute has reached new heights.

Each minute on the internet consists of over 1.3 million online calls, according to data compiled by software company Domo last August. During the same 60 seconds, people around the world would collectively have spent $1 million (P48.4 million) online and sent 150,000 messages on Facebook.

The company also gathered data on the number of videos uploaded on YouTube, photos posted on Facebook and posts on Instagram Stories per minute, among others. Check out the other online activities that take place every minute in the visual piece by Domo below:

Along with the surge in online activity in the past months, the company also reported that the world’s internet population has grown up to about 4.57 billion people this year. JB
