ZTE honors outstanding students with PH scholarship program

METRO MANILA, PHILIPPINES – ZTE Corporation, a global leading ICT solutions provider, announced the launch of its first-ever scholarship program in the Philippines.

It recognized six exceptional students from top universities across the country:

The scholarship is a cornerstone of the company’s STAR Industry-Academe Linkage (IALP) Program. 

“STAR” stands for “Skills, Talent, Attitude, and Responsibility.” The IALP started in 2022 through a Strategic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding between ZTE, the University of Santo Tomas, and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. 

ZTE Philippines Chief Technology Officer Jin Zhi Chao emphasized that the scholarship program aims to “cultivate emerging talents in telecommunications.” 

“ZTE will continue to expand our talent pool through collaborations with various educational institutions in the Philippines,” affirmed ZTE Philippines HR Director Liu Feng. 

UST Vice-Rector for Finance and Faculty of Engineering Regent, Rev. Fr. Roberto L. Luanzon, O.P., SThD, DL, stated: 

“This scholarship is particularly beneficial during these challenging times of pandemic and economic crisis. We are sincerely thankful. Initiatives like this are essential for fostering global cooperation and mutual support.”

Director Ana Publico, PECE, LPT, of the PUP Office of Scholarship and Financial Assistance (OFSA), expressed her heartfelt appreciation for ZTE’s scholarship program:

“The partnership between ZTE and PUP serves as a beacon of hope for ZTE STAR scholars. The profound impact of the scholarship program is evident in the sustained high academic achievement and holistic development of the scholars.”

ZTE will continue to champion education and innovation in the Philippines by nurturing the brightest talents.
