Packworks co-founder Hubert Yap and dGT.asia managing partner Micole Bautista will be presenting sari-sari store tech at the event.
Specifically, they will be participating in the panel discussion, “The distribution business evolution down to the sari-sari store.”
As the name suggests, they will discuss how the latest tech could benefit micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
The Philippines may unlock up to ₱5 trillion in annual economic value by 2030. Thus, tech leaders want to promote digital tools that could help these businesses benefit from this growth.
Packworks Chief Platform Officer Hubert Yap elaborated on his vision to democratize tech access for underserved micro-retailers.
“Our mission has always been to drive inclusive digital transformation that empowers the most vital yet underserved segment of the retail ecosystem,” he stated.
“We are excited to amplify this mission at DigiCon 2024 and showcase how technology can revolutionize sari-sari stores,” Yap continued, “bridging the digital gap in the Philippines and driving economic progress across communities.”
The Packworks platform enables over 270,000 micro-retail stores to digitize tasks like pricing, inventory management, and revenue tracking.
Packworks also empowers women who own 75 percent of sari-sari stores worldwide. As a result, this digital platform provides small businesses with tech that can improve daily operations.
DigiCon or Digital Congress will be held from October 15 to 16, 2024, in Newport City, Metro Manila. With the theme “REVOLUTION,” the annual event is set to assemble over 2,000 participants, providing them the opportunity to explore the latest digital innovations and strategies.
