At the time of writing, meta.ai was inaccessible in the Philippines, so the rollout seems to have a slight delay. Nevertheless, it’s ideal to know about its features so you try them at launch.
How does the Meta AI chatbot work?
The Meta AI chatbot works like OpenAI’s GPT-4. It generates text answers and images based on user prompts and online information.
It stands out because it’s free. Conversely, you need a ChatGPT Plus subscription to use the latest OpenAI large language models, which costs $20 or roughly ₱1,144.60.
The Facebook company says its bot works like a personal assistant that can help with the following tasks:
- Planning a night out with friends? Ask Meta AI to recommend a restaurant with sunset views and vegan options.
- Organizing a weekend getaway? Ask Meta AI to find concerts for Saturday night.
- Cramming for a test? Ask Meta AI to explain how hereditary traits work.
People may access the Meta AI chatbot via a web browser at meta.ai. Alternatively, you may open it on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp.
At the time of writing, it’s available in the following countries:
- Australia
- Canada
- Ghana
- Jamaica
- Malawi
- New Zealand
- Nigeria
- Pakistan
- Singapore
- South Africa
- Uganda
- Zambia
- Zimbabwe
Mark Zuckerberg mentioned expanding access to Guatemala, Paraguay, Brazil, Bolivia, the UK, and the Philippines.
However, it wasn’t available at the time of writing, so Filipinos may need to wait awhile to access the Meta AI chatbot.
