Visual aids make your Google Doc more user-friendly and appealing, but it can be difficult to find the best ones. Fortunately, Google announced that Docs would allow you to create AI clip art.
The online document processor will use the search engine leader’s latest image generation model Imagen 3 and AI chatbot Gemini.

Describe your desired picture, and Gemini will use Imagen 3 to generate it. Even better, it will let you customize its aspect ratio, visual style, and other factors.
How to generate AI clip art on Google Docs
Create your first AI-generated clip art with these steps from the official Google Workspace Updates:
- Click Insert in the top-left corner.
- Then, click Image.
- Select Help me create an image.
- Next, type what you want the image to look like.
- Click the Create button. Alternatively, select an aesthetic under the Add a Style drop-down menu.
Available styles include “photography,” “watercolor,” etc. Moreover, you can add a cover image, which spans an entire document when you view it in borderless mode:
- Click the Insert tab.
- Next, click Cover Image.
- Select Help me create an image.
Try borderless mode by going to File > Page setup > Pageless or Format > Switch to Pageless format.
The AI-powered feature is available for Google Workspace customers with Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, and Education Premium. Moreover, Google One AI Premium could use it.
Google rolled out the AI clip art feature on November 15, 2024, and it will be extended for 15 days or more.
It was not available in the Philippines at the time of writing, so Filipinos may need to wait more to try it.
