TAGUIG, Philippines – Digital payment industry leaders have formally launched Protecta Fintech to protect stakeholders against cybercrimes.
Protecta Pilipinas Fintech Division united fintech companies to improve security and protect consumers.

The launch occurred on December 6 at the PNP Cybercrime Hub, where the following key figures signed the Memorandum of Understanding:
- Atty. Roy Ibay, lead convenor of Protecta Pilipinas
- Francisco Roberto Mauricio, president and CEO of JuanHand
- Kristoffer Rada, head of government and regulatory relations at Maya
- Undersecretary Alexander Ramos, executive director of the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center
Protecta Fintech’s goals and responsibilities include:
- Cultivate a culture of compliance by only endorsing admission to Protecta Pilipinas with updated monitoring clearances for regulators.
- Open industry communication through Protecta Fintech’s Secretariat and during Protecta Pilipinas
- Maximize influence in fintech roundtables via deliberate endorsement for admission of prospective members to Protecta Pilipinas.
- Advocate for dynamic and responsive legislation by conducting industry research regularly and submitting recommendations to proper government agencies.
- Update stakeholders on evolving relevant financial technologies
“We are proud to introduce Protecta Fintech as a collaborative effort to tackle cybercrime in the fintech industry,” Protecta Fintech Lead Advocate Coco Mauricio said.
“By working with both government and private sectors, we are setting the stage for a more secure digital financial ecosystem that supports fairness, innovation, and empowerment for all Filipinos,” he added.
