Solid Snake sneaks into Rainbow Six Siege in one of the wildest crossovers yet

Rainbow Six Siege is officially getting Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid as a permanent operator, launching with Operation Silent Hunt on March 3, 2026.

You read that right and it wasn’t actually just the wind because, raise the alarms, Solid Snake is actually in Rainbow Six Siege.

For clarity, Snake is not just a cosmetic skin. Ubisoft built mechanics around him. His core gadget is the Soliton Radar MKIII, basically a handheld tactical scanner that maps nearby rooms, highlights cameras, and can even reveal enemy positions and vision cones in precision mode.

It works on a color system:

So instead of brute forcing sites, Snake plays information warfare. Clear angles, bait rotations, isolate defenders.

He also introduces On-Site Procurement (OSP). Snake spawns with minimal utility and loots gadgets from eliminated operators mid-round, letting him adapt on the fly instead of committing at spawn. In other words, the longer he lives, the stronger he becomes.

Loadout highlights:

His playstyle is definitely on the stealthier side and we are all for it.

The crossover goes beyond one operator

Operation Silent Hunt also brings:

It’s basically Siege leaning fully into stealth fantasy for a season, not just borrowing a character.

Siege has done crossovers before, but this one fits the game’s DNA to a tee. Snake is a character designed around patience, intel, and controlled engagements instead of pure gun skill.

This is the closest the game has come to a true infiltration playstyle in terms of Operators.

While Year 11 kicks off on PC and console, Ubisoft is also pushing forward with Rainbow Six Mobile.

The mobile version is currently live in LATAM, Canada, France, and Poland. A global launch is scheduled on February 23, 2026 according to Ubisoft.
