Filipino teams dominate the field at Garena Masters X

The Group Stage of Call of Duty: Mobile – Garena Masters X kicks off from March 5 to 8, featuring eight Philippine squads battling for four playoff slots and a share of the $40,000 prize pool.

After surviving the Qualification Stage from February 28 to March 1, the remaining teams now enter a four-day round of group play. Two groups of four teams compete, with only the top two from each group advancing.

Those who make it through will move on to the Playoffs and Grand Finals on March 14–15, where a double-elimination bracket will determine the Garena Masters X champion.

The field features a familiar mix of decorated contenders and hungry newcomers looking to shake up the Philippine CODM hierarchy.

ALULA CLUB

Formed around the former Stalwart Esports core alongside star addition Lucaszin, ALULA CLUB enters the Group Stage as one of the more experienced lineups in the field. Known for aggressive respawn play and strong mechanical skill, the squad has steadily built its reputation across APAC tournaments and continues to grow as a consistent contender on the CODM circuit.

MG.YGN OBLIVION

A relatively new lineup, MG.YGN OBLIVION has already made noise during the tournament’s early stages. Captain Gerk leads the squad alongside veteran R1sky, who brings experience from Omega and Thanatos while serving a dual role as both player and coach. The roster enters the Group Stage aiming to prove its early momentum wasn’t a fluke.

TEAM STAR MAGIC

Consistency has long defined TEAM STAR MAGIC. The squad built its name through steady performances in qualifiers and online tournaments, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Cyberzone Challenger Series 2024 Philippines and appearances in the CODM World Championship Garena Finals in 2024 and 2025. Their disciplined, structured playstyle could make them one of the most reliable teams in the group.

SKAERI

SKAERI represents one of the more interesting development stories in Philippine CODM. The roster first emerged during Garena Masters IX in 2025, bringing together previously unsigned players who quickly found synergy. After a Top 5 debut and another strong showing in Season 9, the team continued its upward trend with a fourth-place group stage finish at the 2025 Garena World Championship Finals.

ELEVATE

Few names carry more weight in the tournament than Elevate.

Founded in 2014, the organization entered CODM in late 2023 by signing the former WPM LowKings roster and quickly turned into a dominant force. Led by KenDy, Susanoo, Yop1, kLo, and Peejay under coach Mark “Olea” Olea, the lineup completed a historic “Golden Road” in 2024, sweeping Garena Masters Seasons 6 and 7, the CODM Summer Invitational, and the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship.

Heading into 2026, expectations remain simple: another championship run.

ELITE ASCEND

What started as a trial roster just three weeks before the tournament has quickly evolved into a legitimate contender. ELITE ASCEND leaned on the experience of players like Pacify and Lexa while committing to daily scrims and structured preparation. Now in the Group Stage, the squad will test whether rapid development can translate into stage results.

SVT KALIX

Formed only three months ago, SVT KALIX has focused heavily on discipline and structure after early tryout setbacks. Through system-based shot-calling and organized practice, the team has steadily refined its playstyle and now looks to convert that preparation into breakthrough performances.

ELUNARI ESPORTS

A brand-new roster entering the season, ELUNARI ESPORTS brings together players with experience from previous Garena Masters campaigns and CODM World Championship qualifiers. While still developing its identity, the team hopes its blend of playstyles and adaptability can create early surprises in the Group Stage.

With only four playoff spots available, every match across the four-day Group Stage will matter.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the double-elimination playoffs, where the eventual champion of Garena Masters X will be crowned on March 15.

For the Philippine CODM scene, the tournament also serves as an early benchmark for the 2026 competitive season.
