Manila, Philippines — Marvel Rivals is set to expand in 2026 as NetEase Games and Marvel Games revealed a slate of upcoming content, collaborations, and gameplay updates during the Marvel Rivals Assemble fan event.

Developers introduced the game’s 2026 roadmap titled “Path to Doomsday,” which outlines a series of in-game events inspired by the Avengers film saga.
According to the team, special events and game modes will roll out in April, June, August, and October, drawing from key moments across the Avengers films from The Avengers to Avengers: Endgame.
The roadmap will culminate in December with new content tied to the theatrical release of Avengers: Doomsday.
One of the event’s highlights was the announcement of a limited-time asymmetric game mode centered on Loki.
In the mode, one player controls Loki while six others take on the roles of different Marvel heroes attempting to defeat him.
Loki uses illusion-based abilities and powers derived from the Infinity Stones to manipulate enemies, summon hero replicas, and turn players against each other. Under certain conditions, players can also summon Hulk, recreating scenes inspired by the Avengers storyline.
Developers also teased Season 7, hinting at a storyline involving “a thief and an agent” working together in New York for what was described as an “impossible mission.”
Meanwhile, two new costumes Psylocke: Once-Captive Corsair and Captain America: Cursed Captain will be released on March 6, expanding the game’s customization options.
Alongside the roadmap reveal, the developers shared engagement milestones reflecting the game’s growing player base.
The title currently features 47 playable superheroes, 20 maps, 418 costumes, and 11 additional game modes, while its official Discord community has surpassed 4.2 million members.
The event also featured a musical showcase and merchandise reveals as part of the Marvel Assemble! campaign, leading up to the release of Avengers: Doomsday in theaters on December 18. (By Rich Longakit, INQUIRER.net Intern)
