MANILA, Philippines – Blizzard Entertainment has announced Slayer’s Reign, a limited-time crossover event bringing Diablo Immortal and DOOM: The Dark Ages together from April 16 to May 13 (AEST).
The event introduces DOOM-inspired gameplay modes, enemies, cosmetics, and progression systems to Sanctuary, merging two franchises known for battling demonic forces.
Diablo Immortal, launched in 2022 for mobile and PC, is Blizzard’s free-to-play action RPG set between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III.
The title has continued to receive regular updates, seasonal content, and collaborations as part of its live-service model. Meanwhile, DOOM: The Dark Ages is the newest installment in id Software’s long-running shooter franchise, recognized for its fast-paced combat and demon-slaying gameplay.

At the center of the event is Slayer’s Bane, a reworked version of Diablo Immortal’s Survivor’s Bane mode. Players can wield DOOM-inspired weapons such as the Shield Saw, Dreadmace, and Super Shotgun, along with six new aggressive combat abilities focused on mobility and crowd control.
Classic DOOM enemies also invade Sanctuary, with Imps appearing across battlefields and the Cyberdemon serving as the main boss encounter.
A new Legendary Gem called The Crucible is introduced, granting finishing effects on weakened enemies and stacking bonuses to damage and movement speed through the Slayer’s Rage mechanic.
Players can also earn DOOM-themed cosmetics and collectibles, including Argent Energy weapon skins, the Praetor Armor, the Cacodemon Familiar, and the Serrat mount.
The collaboration reflects a broader trend in live-service gaming where publishers use crossover events to sustain player engagement and attract new audiences.
For Blizzard, the event also serves as a promotional tie-in for DOOM: The Dark Ages while expanding Diablo Immortal’s in-game content offerings.
With its mix of gothic fantasy and fast-paced shooter elements, Slayer’s Reign stands as one of Blizzard’s largest crossover events yet, bringing two iconic visions of Hell into one battlefield.
