MANILA, Philippines – TRENTITAS’ run in VCT 2026 Game Changers SEA Challengers Split 1 came to an end after a tough 0-2 loss to a surging 36 Thieves squad.
Facing one of the most dominant teams left in the lower brackets, the all-Filipina lineup struggled to keep up with the pace, ultimately bowing out of the tournament despite their best efforts to pursue gold.
TRENTITAS Overwhelmed by 36 Thieves’ Relentless Pressure
The series began on Lotus, a crucial opportunity for TRENTITAS (TITA) to take control on their own map pick. However, things quickly unraveled as 36 Thieves established an early defensive stance.
With 36 Thieves’ (36TH) sentinel player “Zelyd” holding down the fort every single time, TITA continued to struggle finding a perfect attack against the Vietnamese squad.
It took five rounds before TRENTITAS could even get on the board, already trailing heavily and struggling to find openings.
Despite attempts to adjust mid-game, TRENTITAS were consistently shut down by disciplined setups and aggressive counterplays.
The map slipped away at 13-5, with little room for recovery from TITA. 36 Thieves’ main duelist, “imvnesegirl” delivered a standout performance, racking up an incredible 30/8/1 KDA and 433 ACS to completely take over the game.
On the second map, Haven offered a chance to bounce back, and while TRENTITAS showed better signs of life, the gap remained evident.
“Hibari” provided a highlight moment with a 4K to keep the team within reach from the last round of the first half, but 36 Thieves still held a commanding 8-4 lead at halftime.
Any hopes of a comeback quickly faded after the second pistol round went in favor of 36 Thieves, who wasted no time closing the map 13-5 with their signature aggressive site takes.
Imvnesegirl once again led the charge, finishing with a 21/10/6 KDA and 322 ACS to secure back-to-back MVP performances. With the loss, TRENTITAS are officially eliminated, ending their run against a team that looked in complete control from start to finish.
IVY GC Edge Out Matilda GC
In the other match of the day, IVY GC secured a 2-0 victory over Matilda GC in a much tighter series.
While the scoreline suggests a clean sweep, the games themselves were closely contested, with Matilda pushing IVY GC in multiple rounds. In the end, IVY GC’s composure in crucial moments allowed them to edge out both maps and advance further into the tournament.
