Google launches Fitbit Air, your personal AI-powered health coach

Google has officially introduced Fitbit Air, a new AI-driven wellness and health coaching system band integrated into Fitbit and Google Health services.

The platform combines data from Fitbit wearables, health records, sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, activity logs, and recovery metrics to generate personalized health insights. Instead of focusing only on fitness tracking, Fitbit Air is designed to function as an ongoing health assistant that adapts recommendations based on user behavior and long-term trends.

The device supports continuous health tracking features including 24/7 heart rate monitoring, heart rhythm tracking with AFib alerts, blood oxygen (SpO2) monitoring, resting heart rate measurement, and heart rate variability tracking. The platform also tracks sleep stages and duration, alongside automatic activity detection and workout summaries. It can even scan surrounding gym equipment to suggest a workout just for you. Google wants Fitbit Air could be considered by people from of all walks of life interested in their health from professionals to people who simply want to lose weight.

Fitbit Air is Google’s wider push into AI-assisted healthcare following the company’s continued integration of Fitbit into the Google ecosystem. The launch shows Google’s constant push into the future with wearable platforms that combine biometric tracking with AI-generated guidance instead of simply displaying raw data.

The Fitbit Air is built for 7 days of battery life, fast charging in five minutes, screenless, and offers seamless switching functions between Pixel Watch for the day and Fitbit Air during sleeping hours. The Fitbit Air is compatible with both Android and iOS devices and is available for pre-order through the Google Store website for 99 USD. Though as of writing, it won’t ship directly to the Philippines just yet.
