Bacolod City is now the first city using the country’s upgraded Unified 911 platform after formally partnering with PLDT Enterprise for the rollout.
The deployment introduces a centralized emergency response system powered by the Genesys cloud platform. The setup includes unified call handling, dispatch coordination, GPS tracking, video streaming, and integrated incident reporting. PLDT Enterprise also deployed FiberBiz and iGate Premium connectivity across 30 government sites supporting emergency operations.
The rollout covers many local emergency systems still operate separately across agencies. Calls, dispatching, and reporting are often handled through fragmented channels, slowing coordination during emergencies. Bacolod’s Unified 911 system places those functions into a single platform.
The upgraded system is also part of the national initiative to modernize the Philippines’ 911 infrastructure, with Bacolod serving as the pilot deployment for the broader rollout.
The city has been expanding its smart city programs through command centers, e-governance systems, and infrastructure upgrades. The Unified 911 deployment adds emergency response directly into that modernization push.
Mayor Greg Gasataya said PLDT Enterprise has already supported Bacolod’s emergency communications and fiber infrastructure prior to the rollout. The city will now serve as the testing ground for the upgraded platform before wider implementation in the archipelago. “We thank the PLDT for going the extra mile to provide our requirements for this initiative. We value their continued support as Bacolod serves as the pilot city for the upgraded 911 platform.”, added the Mayor.
