MANILA, Philippines–The Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 is necessary to go after those erring internet users, a lawmaker said Tuesday during the Cybercrime Forum.
“Technology can be used for both good and bad,” Congressman Sigfrid R. Tinga, head of the ICT Committee in Congress said, as he likened technology to a car that can be used also to run over someone.
He said the law the country has is already antique and the Cybercrime Law is needed to run after those who abuse modern technology.
