Netizens rejoice after SC issued TRO vs cyberlaw

MANILA, Philippines—Netizens, bloggers, teachers, students, party-list groups shouted for joy upon hearing that Supreme Court justices had unanimously issued a temporary restraining order on the Cybercrime Prevention Act during Tuesday’s full court deliberation on the petitions filed against the said law.

“The TRO is an achievement and the credit goes to the millions of Filipinos who tweeted, blogged and posted comments against the cyberlaw, not only to the 15 petitioners,” said Renato Reyes Jr., Bayan secretary general.

But Reyes said the fight against RA 10175 continues until the law is junked.
