MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Justice (DoJ) has put on hold the crafting of the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) for Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 after the Supreme Court stopped its implementation for 120 days.
“The TRO (temporary restraining order) would encompass the implementation of the entire law. Since the adoption of the IRR is in the law, then it is on hold for the meantime,” De Lima told reporters Wednesday.
However, De Lima said they will continue with the information campaign to inform the public that they should not be afraid of the new law.
“We will still undertake awareness raising campaign to educate the people on the salient features of the law and to explain to them that there is nothing to worry in the implementation of the law,” De Lima said.
