IT foundation supports Philippine relief efforts

PALO ALTO, California – HP has announced that the HP Company Foundation has committed $50,000 to the relief efforts carried out by the Philippine Red Cross in providing assistance to those affected by Typhoon Bopha (Pablo), which caused extensive damage in Southern Philippines last December.

Additionally, HP will donate 100 laptops to NetHope. The notebooks will support NetHope member non-governmental organizations’ information and communication technology (ICT) needs while working in the Philippines. NetHope is a collaboration of 38 of the world’s leading international humanitarian organizations teaming up to solve common problems in the developing world and areas affected by disaster with technology solutions.

“The HP Company Foundation has a long history of providing disaster relief support to communities throughout the world,” said Ryan Guadalquiver, managing director, HP Philippines. “By supporting relief efforts in the Philippines, we hope to help residents recover and rebuild after the damage left by this devastating storm.”
