“We have invested over $90 million to launch a new and advanced IT system along with our ongoing network modernization,” the company said.
In an advisory sent to postpaid users this week, the company said billing statements might also be late for as long as three weeks after the transition, which would take place on March 2 to March 5.
“As with most upgrades of this scale, we are spending significant effort to minimize any impact on you, so any impact will be small and temporary,” the company said in the letter. “During this period, you will still be able to call, text and browse. However, there will be times when you may encounter some issues.”
Globe and Tattoo postpaid users will be unable to register to promos, except for all roaming promos for Globe Postpaid, which will continue to be available even during the transition period.
“We will let you know through text advisories when you can sign up again for promos,” the firm added.
The company said that as it migrates to its new billing system, first bills after the migration would be delayed by three weeks. “Your payment due dates will be adjusted accordingly,” the company said, adding that users would also see some changes in their bills, depending on the cut-off date and the time the company would complete the transition to the new system.
“We will explain changes in how your bill looks like as you receive them,” the company told users. The transition will have minimal impact on prepaid subscribers, it said.
