MANILA, Philippines—About 60 masked protesters marched towards the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City Tuesday to protest the allegedly anomalous pork barrel system, occupying several lanes of the westbound IBP Road.

A report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM said the protesters, who arrived in front of the Quezon City Polytechnic University shortly before 11 a.m., were wearing the trademark Guy Fawkes masks of the international hacktivist group Anonymous.

The group planned to hold their protest program in front of the Batasang Pambansa, but police blocked them from getting near the complex housing the lower chamber of Congress.

The report also said members of the group carried white placards bearing words “the corrupt fear us, the honest support us, the heroic join us.”

Five people, who claimed to be members of the Anonymous Philippines group, were invited to Quezon City Police District-Station 6 for questioning. They were later released.

As of posting time, the protesters were marching away from the Batasan Pambansa.
