MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) urges mobile users to support the relief efforts in typhoon battered provinces in the Visayas by donating funds through SMS and G-cash.

In an effort to extend the on-going relief operations, PRC tied up with mobile network providers to give subscribers the opportunity to donate using their mobile phones. This platform will allow the mobile community to easily and quickly help by maximizing the potential of mobile donation.
Based on a report by technology firm Ericsson, the Philippines has mobile net additions of 5 million subscribers in 2012 and among the top five countries in the world with mobile subscribers.
For mobile donations, subscribers can follow these steps:

You can donate the following denominations:
Globe: 5, 25, 100, 300, 500 or 1000
Smart: 10, 25, 50, 100, 300, 500 or 1000
“Through your generosity, we can stand prepared for disasters. We appreciate your continuous and unwavering support,” PRC said.
