SAP unveils high performance analytics software at SAP World Tour

MANILA, Philippines – With the exploding amount of data in business transactions in this day and age, to have instant access to information is an advantage.

SAP unveiled on Tuesday the High Performance Analytics Appliance (HANA) software, a flexible, multi-purpose, data source in-memory appliance that combines SAP software components,optimized on hardware, and provided by SAP hardware partners.

“The key challenge among companies today is how to best analyze the soaring quantity of data, and harness  that information to improve the business, while maintaining cost efficiency,” said Simon Dale, Head of Technology and Innovation, SAP Asia Pacific-Japan.

The HANA enables businesses “to analyze their operations based on large volumes of detailed information as it develops.”

The enterprises can instantly explore their transactions from any data source in real time.

The operational data is “captured in memory as business happens, and flexible views expose analytic information at the speed of thought.”

HANA was launched at the SAP World Tour at the Edsa Shangrila in Mandaluyong. The event gathered many of the country’s key large enterprises to share best practices in harnessing the power of business intelligence to help keep up with the changing business landscape.

“We must embrace change. The key is to evolve and transform with the times. Mobility, analytics and cloud are more than just buzzwords but starting a real revolution in information technology,” said Tim Moyla, SAP President for Southeast Asia.

The SAP World Tour is being held in more than 50 cities in over 40 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America.

The global road show has reached more than 240,000 customers, partners and influencers, customers and prospects, along with members of the SAP ecosystem and parties interested in partnering with SAP. The Philippines is its 4th stop in Southeast Asia after Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

“Companies will need to be more agile and responsive to the changing business dynamics by enabling access to all the information needed to meet these challenges,” said Jennie Ligones, SAP Country Manager.
