MANILA, Philippines—Love was in the air on Facebook’s 2013 yearender as couples expressed their affection for each other through the social-networking site.
“Added a relationship,” “got engaged” and “got married” topped the list of the world’s 10 life events that users posted in their Timelines.
People were also on the move as the second and third spots belonged to posts involving the status “traveled” and “moved.”
If lovers topped the list, so did shattered hearts with the status “ended a relationship” at fourth.
“First met a friend,” “added a family member” and “got a pet” ranked fifth, sixth and seventh in the list of life events.
But not all Facebook users’ posts were happy as “lost a loved one” took the eighth spot with “got a piercing” and “quit a habit” ranking ninth and tenth.
Checked-in
Facebook also rounded up the most visited countries in 2013.
Sao Paulo, Brazil’s largest city, and Parque Ibirapuera, Brazil’s equivalent to New York City’s Central Park were among the 25 most visited sites.
Of the 25, four of them – Hong Kong, Japan, US and France – were visited for one attraction – Disneyland.
The Marina Bay Sands in Singapore has also been listed among the top destinations.
