Apple has showed off images of its new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 tablets, a day before they were supposed to be unveiled at a special event in its headquarters at Cupertino, California.
SINGAPORE—Apple has showed off images of its new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 tablets, a day before they were supposed to be unveiled at a special event in its headquarters at Cupertino, California.
The accidental leaks were uploaded onto Apple’s own iTunes Store, which showed off images of the new devices in the iPad User Guide for iOS 8.1. Both devices have outward appearances that appear identical in looks to current models of the iPad Air and iPad mini.
Both new devices also show off a new Touch ID sensor, a biometric reader that Apple has only included into its iPhones so far.
The leaked shots were uploaded onto iTunes very soon after Google announced its Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus 6 smartphone, which run on its new Android Lollipop operating system. The 8.9-inch tablet is made by HTC, while the phone is produced by Lenovo-owned Motorola.
The leaked image has since been removed from iTunes.
