MANILA, Philippines—“Share the everyday no matter the distance.”
That was the message being promoted by search giant Google Philippines in its recently released video showing how Filipinos working abroad can still reach out to their loved ones this Yuletide season by utilizing their various services.
The video, titled “Miss Nothing,” showed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from various parts of the world using Google services such as YouTube, Google +, Google Hangouts, and Google Maps to connect with their families left in the Philippines.
The background song of the video was Basil Valdez’s “You” which was sung by a child.
“Pasko na naman, at magdaratingan ulit ang mga mahal natin sa buhay galing ibang bansa! At para sa mga hindi makakauwi, isang paalala ng pagmamahal ang handog ng Google Philippines para sa kanila, sa inyo, at inyong mga pamilya,” Google Philippines said in its description of the video.
The “Miss Nothing” video is part of the search giant’s “Balikbayan” campaign to connect OFWs with their families through Google’s numerous applications. In the “Balikbayan” site, netizens can explore, share, and even get ready for their next destination.
As of posting time, the video has garnered more than 400,000 views since the video was posted last December 14.
