WATCH: Mt. Everest avalanche after Nepal quake flattens camp

A dramatic footage of the avalanche hitting the base camp in Mt. Everest following the massive magnitude 7.8 earthquake on Saturday has gone viral.

In a video posted on YouTube by German climber Jost Kobusch, mountaineers were seen running from a wall of ice, rock, and snow triggered by the earthquake.

After the avalanche hit the base camp, the video showed climbers searching for survivors who were inside their flattened tents.

The video has since been viewed 2,490,437 times as of this posting.

The magnitude 7.8 earthquake which shook Nepal and neighboring countries has claimed the lives of more than 3,200 people, according to latest figures from the Nepalese government.

The avalanche on the Mt. Everest base camp has killed at least 18 people. AJH
