Hackers defaced the channel of the Asian Nuclear Safety Network on the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute website on Tueday, as they urged President Benigno Aquino III to upgrade the military’s capability to defend the country.
The hackers identified themselves as PH Cyber Intruder Team: “We are fighters, freethinkers, we are PH.CIT.”
“We are to remind you of your duty in our country, as you can see a low level military equipment, we need an upgrade to ensure the protection of our country,” the message read.
The hackers said they were expecting more from the President during his term. “We watched you for several years and still we saw no improvements, yes maybe you improved our economy but how about the military equipment, corruption, cyber security, and justices,” they said in a message on the homepage of the defaced channel.
They also called on lawmakers to speed up the passage of the anti-political dynasty bill in Congress, saying it could help “reduce corruption in our country.”
They also lashed out at the Supreme Court.
“Dear Supreme Court, stop taking money from the corrupt and dismissing their case. Be ashame of yourselves, this is what you call ‘justice’?” they said. “Let me remind you of the meaning of that word, ‘the quality of being just; righteousness, equitableness, or moral rightness.’”
On Independence Day, the website of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines was attacked by hackers who identified themselves as members of Pinoy Vendetta, Anonymous Rizal, Magdalo Cyber Army, and Ghost Security Hackers.
