The Bureau of Internal Revenue will no longer accept tax returns filed through e-mail.
The BIR said it was discontinuing the use of eBIRForms e-mail accounts starting, Aug. 1.
The practice was being discontinued because during the validation of filings, “numerous invalid formats of BIR tax returns were found attached by taxpayers, including e-mails with no attachments,” the BIR said.
Taxpayers who continue to use the eBIRForms e-mail will receive the following response: “This tax return submission channel is now unavailable and your tax return will be disregarded. Please download the eBIRForms package version 5 and follow the procedures per RMC [Revenue Memorandum Circular] No. 31-2015 to submit your tax returns.”
RMC 31-2015 issued in June announced that the new electronic tax return filing form was available on the following websites: www.bir.gov.ph; www.knowyourtaxes.ph; www.dof.gov.ph; as well as Dropbox link https://goo.gl/UCr8XS.
“All the 36 tax returns available in the package can be filed by clicking the ‘submit’ or ‘final copy’ button and the taxpayer will receive the corresponding confirmation through e-mail notification,” the circular read. Ben O. de Vera
