Looking for missing vehicles is now one click away as the Highway Patrol Group put up a Facebook page showing the list and photos of recovered and impounded vehicles stored in the HPG’s custody.

The Facebook page “HPG Recovered and Impounded MV” compiles the details and photos of recovered and impounded vehicles. Some of these veichles were recovered from anti-carnapping police operations, according to HPG spokesperson Superintendent Oliver Tanseco.

“Kapag kami ay may narecover o na-seize, nilalagay ito sa aming Facebook para po sa ganoon hindi na po kayo mamomroblema. Bubuksan niyo lang ang aming Facebook page,” Tanseco said in a press briefing at Camp Crame on Monday.

The HPG provides a photo of each vehicle including its type, model, engine and chassis number, the registered owner, date of recovery and its status. The HPG also indicates the name of the investigator on case and his or her contact number.

Tanseco encouraged claimants to bring their documents to the HPG headquarters in Camp Crame that will prove their ownership of the vehicle.

“For the owners’ peace of mind, we will readily return their vehicle as long as it is not a subject of a pending case in court,” he said.

In Camp Crame alone, there are 250 vehicles–SUV, motorcyles, taxis and other types–in the custody of HPG. For the first half of 2015, there were 371 vehicles reported stolen in Metro Manila while there were 1,008 motorcycles stolen.
