Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday gave a free tour of the social networking site’s new headquarters in California using Facebook’s “Live” function.

In an almost four-minute video, Zuckerberg toured viewers in the office, where he highlighted the open floor plan and glass dividers.

“Hey, how is it going? This is our first live video that we are taking at Facebook headquarters,” Zuckerberg said. “We just moved in here a couple of months ago at this point.”

Zuckerberg said there were no “special offices” in the headquarters even for bosses like him, noting that he spends most of his time in the conference room.

“The whole idea here is by having an open floor plan, where people were close to each other; it facilitates people sharing and communicating about what they are doing, which enables better collaboration which we think is key to building the best services for the community,” he said.

Zuckerberg said the “culture of openness and transparency” that they were fostering in the Facebook headquarters allows them to work more efficiently.

“It’s all glass. We want to create this very open and transparent culture in our company where everyone can see what everyone else is working on, people can walk by… which enables us to do our best work,” he added. JE
