Three giant tech companies have unveiled their breathtaking plans to engineer their own smart contact lens for unique purposes.
Google invented a lens that can allow the user to monitor the glucose intent and hydration levels, thus saving the lives of millions of people diagnosed with diabetes.
On the other hand, Samsung publicly disclosed in a patent application that they would create a contact lens that enshrines a mini camera inside the lens, according to Sammobile.com. When this dreamy invention becomes a reality, users of the contact lens can snap photos in the blink of an eye and save it on the smartphone.
The smart contact lens consists of a camera, an antenna, and sensors that can detect the users’ movements and connect with the external device to process data to a gadget, according to The Guardian.
Sony, on the other hand, is beefing up plans to invent a futuristic type of contact lens – the contact lens user can shoot videos and play them. The lens will be built with an organic electroluminescence display screen that is capable of recording videos straight from the contact lenses.
The lens use piezoelectric sensors to gather information on the eyelids’ closure time or when it winks. A gyro sensor is used to measure the eyelids’ tilt and it uses electromagnetic induction to receive power.
