VIRAL: ‘Running Man Challenge’ Internet’s new dance trend

1

A new dance trend is sweeping the Internet and has left sport stars and even local celebrities grooving to a 90’s classic song.

The trend, known as “The Running Man Challenge,” was started by two high school students from New Jersey—Kevin Vincent and Jeremiah Hall—who made a video dancing to Ghost Town DJ’s “My Boo” during a “boring” Finance class.

“One day, we were just sitting there, bored, and then the song ‘My Boo’ started playing in my head so I was like ‘I’m just gonna sing it’ so I started singing it. And we just decided to make a video,” the high school students said in a recent episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.

The video was made viral by University of Maryland basketball players Jaylen Brantley and Jared Nickens. Since then, sport stars such as Miami Heat’s Justise Winslow, the Los Angeles Dodgers and some NFL players made videos of themselves doing the challenge.

Reaching the Philippines, some celebrities like Liza Soberano, Maja Salvador, Xian Lim and Gerald Anderson also took the challenge. AJH/rga
