The state weather bureau on Monday launched its weather forecasting application for Android phones.
A light version of the website contains vital weather information and flood warnings, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in a statement.
The project is one of the components of the technical cooperation between Pagasa and the Japan International Cooperation Agency – Project.
Simplified information materials created by Pagasa and the USAID’s Be Sure project were also launched.
The brochure-type materials give information about La Niña, El Niño, rainfall warning system and the updated tropical cyclone warning system.
Poster-type materials will also be released soon, Pagasa said. RAM/rga
