Some Twitter users poked fun at the performances of those who played as mock victims, while others linked the earthquake to their workload and romantic life.

“Oh ‘bat ka sumali sa Earthquake Drill? ‘Di ba ‘di ka naman nakakaramdam ng lindol kasi manhid ka?” @HeneralHugot wrote.

Some netizens also posted videos of themselves pretending to be rattled by a quake.

“Earthquake in the Philippines. Expectation: Duck. Cover. Hold. Reality: Grabs phone. Tweet. Post. Hugot. Selfie. Snapchat,” said @krizzy_kalerqui.

The scenario in this year’s simulation was a 7.2-magnitude quake hitting the National Capital Region, with the southern quadrant being separated from the rest of the metropolis with the collapse of the Guadalupe Bridge in Makati City.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has said that based on historical data, the country is expecting a powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake anytime within the next 50 years and could potentially kill 34,000 people.
