Be alert, Pokémon Go “trainers.” Make sure you don’t end up into a “Pokéfail.”
A driver from Auburn, New York, in the US swerved off a road and smacked into a tree on Tuesday night after he admitted that he was playing the smash-hit game Pokémon Go.
The ill-fated driver, 28, was trying to catch a Pokémon on his smartphone, the Auburn Police Department said. The man lost control and crashed his vehicle because he was overly distracted by the game. He was not injured but his car was heavily scrunched, according to local news site Syracuse.
After the accident, the police reminded Pokémon Go players to “be alert” and don’t trespass on private properties just to catch the adorable monsters.
Meanwhile, another Pokémon Go player suddenly stumbled onto a pond after catching Rattata. He recorded the unfortunate moment on video and he uploaded it on YouTube on Monday, amassing 670,000 views as of this writing.
Theft and cybercrime cases involving the global game have been documented in the US and Australia. Several players in the US were reportedly tricked and robbed while they were playing the game.
