It’s no longer a surprise that just about anyone who owns a smartphone has heard of Pokémon Go. And because of this, a Harry Potter fan thought that this kind of gaming app could also work with their beloved series.
Ashtyn Hannon, one of the many fans of the Harry Potter series, recently created a petition that requests Warner Bros. for a game similar to Pokémon Go only based on the Harry Potter universe. The petition requests 8,000 signatures and as of the time of writing has already reached more than 7,000 supporters.
Hannon narrates a few of his ideas on how the game could take advantage of Harry Potter lore. This included wizard duels with spells that could disable the app, scavenger hunts for Hoxcruxes, and even searching for magical creatures like hippogriffs as well as dragons a la Pokémon. The last one in reference to the upcoming movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
While Warner Bros. has yet to issue any response, Potterheads can continue to dream of the possibilities for such an app. Alfred Bayle
